Workshop "Using Web 2.0 in library activity" took place on July, 7-8th, 2009 at the American University of Central Asia Workshop "Using Web 2.0 in library activity" took place on July, 7-8th, 2009 at the American University of Central Asia. Leading library specialists of Bishkek took part in the workshop. The main trainer of the workshop was Nurilya Sarybaeva - Director of Library and Information Center of the Kyrgyz State Technical University. The main purpose of the workshop was to learn the opportunities of use of Web 2.0 services in library activity. Participants learned the history and major principles of Web 2.0 creation. The special attention was given to the basic tools of Web 2.0, such as blogs, RSS, wiki, podcast, social network (facebook, odnoklassniki.ru, my.mail.ru). Participants of the workshop could put into practice the received knowledge. During a practical part of the workshop librarians tried to create their own blogs, to edit some texts in wikipedia and to subscribe to RSS.
