The World Digital Library launched on April 21, 2009 in Paris On April 21, 2009 UNESCO and the Library of Congress officially launched the World Digital Library. The main objective of this unique project on the scales is to assist to the international and intercultural mutual understanding. The digital collection contains the most valuable sources on history and culture of different nations, unique literary works from all world, including the USA, the Great Britain, France, Russia, China, the CIS countries, etc. At the moment it includes about 1,200 documents. The convenient search engine is developed for users. You can view materials by type, year and place of edition; the wide range of materials is presented including books, manuscripts, photos, cards, аудио- and videorecordings.
