10-th International Conference "Issyk-kyl 2009: "Libraries and Democratization of Society" took place from October, 1 to October, 5 on the shore of the Issyk-Kul Lake10-th International Conference "Issyk-kyl 2009: "Libraries and Democratization of Society" took place from October, 1 to October, 5 on the shore of the Issyk-Kul Lake. This year the Conference celebrated its tenth anniversary. During these years it has become a regular place of professional meetings and experience sharing for librarians from different countries. There were library and information specialists from Germany, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Netherlands, Russia, USA, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan among conference participants. Conference delegates had a chance to participate in the open discussion within the framework of workshops and round-tables, to establish professional contacts and to learn the experience of leading professionals from CIS and foreign countries.
